For the Collectors flute I try to create something that even the most casual observer would agree is in the realm of the extraordinary. Each Collectors flute is individually hand crafted to the most exacting standards.. No two are alike. Only the finest materials available are used to make a Collectors flute. There may be five or six different species of wood used to make a single flute.
When it comes to finish each flute has two interior coats of varnish and at least three exterior coats. The finish is hand sanded between coats with 320 grit paper. After the final coat has dried for a least a week the surface is hand rubbed with 000 steel wool and buffed to a deep smooth lusted such as that found on a grand piano.
The Collectors flute is tuned three times during the crafting process. Attention is payed to bringing the cross fingered notes into tune with the pentatonic notes so that you can have an in tune diatonic scale.
My intention is that each of these instruments have an individual personality both in appearance and sound quality. This is a flute that will take a respected place in your collection and that you will treasure for a lifetime.
